I am heading back to Seattle in two weeks. Leaving about the 25th and arriving about November 2nd.

I have a transfer from GeekSquad to the new store opening in Issaquah...

Kato will be coming with me.

Need new Seattle ISP/Server host

I need a new ISP in Seattle area.

My old ISP was acquired many years ago, and now it seems that the company is dropping support for the Seattle area (including deprovisioning the routers).

This is an immediate need as the DSL modem died and Verizon refuses to replace it, saying that it's the ISP's responsibility (even though Verizon provided it in the first place).

I currently have static IPs for my servers. That is not 100% necessary, but then I'll need to find a place to host my servers (which are currently inaccessible due to the DSL modem being dead). Currently these machines are NT Server, but I'm moving them to LAMP.

Any recommendations for ISP and hosting?

Job, Suit, Business

Off for another day of learning the systems.

This job also seems to involve standing for 99% of the work day, so my recent experience was helpful :)

And... dang. it's November!

The end of MMO happiness

I've canceled my subscription to Warhammer Online.

I had great hope for the game. It was created by Mythic; the creators of Dark Age of Camelot.

It promised great RvR with good PvE. Mythic had had many years of MMO development with DAoC, so I expected that the usual problems of class balance would not be a big problem at the start and any small issues would be quickly ironed out.

That has not been the case. In fact, Mythic seems reluctant to admit that there even IS a class balance problem.

I will spend most of the time gained playing with LAMP systems.

Student discount

I am starting online classes today at City U in Seattle.

This is my first time taking online classes.  All this new-fangled technology.

Still have to pay outrageous prices for books, tho; that hasn't changed.

I will be finishing my bachelor's degree.  It will be a BS in Business Administration with emphasis in Project Management

I have learned that...

I do not have super powers to cure cramps.

But I tried.

Looking for gainful employment

Multiple funding sources went poof within weeks and there are big layoffs, including me.

So I am once again looking for gainful employment.

I'd prefer MD or Seattle areas.

I'd prefer game development (Production).
